The new chapter for Aussies Yours Truly is well under way and on the build up to the next album that is set to land in August this year, the band have dropped their latest single ‘California Sober’. This single is filled with everything we’ve come to love and adore about this band with raw pop punk hooks providing an uplifting feel with sharp guitar work and head nodding drum grooves while Mikaila Delgado’s confessional lyrics brings together a beautifully composed track. The bands brand new album ‘Toxic’ is set for release on the 16th August via UNFD and the singles so far have given a strong indication of the direction the band are going in with this one.

“California Sober was written during the same period as Sour,” the band shares. “We’d started working on Sour – we were getting nowhere with it. We had a bit of a breakdown; we were crying and talking about things… We were mucking around, playing guitar, and Mikaila started singing about when you come over and your friends are stoned; just sitting there, not wanting to do much. It’s all good and fun, but you can’t enjoy other people’s company and think “I’m not good enough to hang out with… California Sober is the essence of trying to be present with your friends and loved ones. You don’t have to just put on this facade, this mask, and hide yourself away.”
