Alt rock legends Citizen are back with their new single, “If You’re Lonely,” this is also the first release from their forthcoming fifth album Calling The Dogs out on the 6th October. The song mixes introspective lyrics, crisp guitar lines, driving drums and heartfelt melodies that deliver a feeling of hope as lead singer Mat Kerekes lyrically deals with themes of self discovery and living through hard times as a child. Kerekes shares, “I grew up around a narcissistic parent and absorbed a lot of that behaviour over time, negatively affecting people close to me. If You’re Lonely is about recognising that, growing from it, and becoming a reliable shoulder to lean on.”

Self-reflection, personal growth, and resilience will also be big themes on the upcoming album Calling The Dogs as the band mark a new era with their sound and “stripping back to what they do best: guitar-driven rock ‘n roll.”
