State Champs release Self Titled album & music video for ‘Save Face Story’

Albany’s pop-punk heroes State Champs have officially unveiled their highly anticipated fifth studio album—a self-titled record via Pure Noise Records. To celebrate, they debuted a music video for the track “Save Face Story”, a high-energy collaboration with German hardcore funk band Slope. Teased heavily on social media, the track delivers a fresh twist on the band’s signature windows-down pop-punk sound with Slope providing a feature reminiscent of a Set Your Goals style punk energy.

Frontman Derek DiScanio shares: “’Save Face Story’ is one of our personal favorites from the record. It spotlights an unlikely friendship between State Champs and Slope, providing one of the most exciting and effortlessly cool collaborations Champs has ever done. On paper, the combination might not make total sense, but the result speaks for itself.”

The album, produced by Anton DeLost (Mayday Parade, Hawthorne Heights), encapsulates the growth and evolution of State Champs as they balance personal milestones like marriage, parenthood, and new locations. According to DiScanio: “We found our way, through the ups and downs within us, personally and as a band, and wanted to express that in this new record. This is the right time to showcase it.”

Bassist Ryan Scott Graham adding:  “When we stepped back and looked at the songs, sonically and thematically, it’s a great vision of who we are. Every era of State Champs exists within this record.”
