Spanish Love Songs Unveil New Track “Lifers Too”

Spanish Love Songs have released a brand new track, “Lifers Too,” marking the final entry in their No Joy Sessions series—a stripped-back reimagining of songs from their critically acclaimed 2023 album No Joy.
Serving as a companion piece to fan favourite “Lifers,” the new track explores themes of selfishness and existential disconnect, with frontman Dylan Slocum describing: “If you couldn’t guess, Lifers Too is a sibling song to Lifers, a companion story told from the opposite perspective. It’s a song about selfishness and the cognitive dissonance of planning for a future you don’t see yourself having. We could never crack a satisfying arrangement in the studio, so the full version missed out on making the record. This is an expanded version of the original acoustic arrangement. I imagine we’ll still get a full band version out some day. “
Produced by the band alongside Collin Pastore (Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker) and mixed by Carlos de la Garza (Paramore, M83), No Joy was praised for its brutally honest lyrics and richly textured soundscapes. The No Joy Sessions take that raw emotion even further, offering more intimate, stripped-down renditions that let the band’s existential storytelling shine.
Spanish Love Songs have confirmed a run of UK and EU headline shows this autumn, before joining the inaugural Common Thread Festival Tour—a new travelling punk fest featuring Hot Water Music, Joyce Manor, Comeback Kid and more.
The band will first appear at Furnace Fest in the US on 3rd October, before heading across the Atlantic for a string of intimate club dates, culminating in a trio of UK headline shows in Birmingham, Manchester, and Nottingham.
