PVRIS Unveils New Mixtape “F.I.L.T.H.”

Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, the creative force behind the alternative band PVRIS, has embarked on an exciting new chapter with the release of her self-produced EP, F.I.L.T.H.. This new mixtape, which features an array of powerhouse collaborators, marks a bold step forward for Gunnulfsen as she continues to experiment and expand her sound.
Crafted exclusively by women, non-binary, and queer artists, F.I.L.T.H. is a celebration of musical diversity and inclusivity. The mixtape includes notable features from LIGHTS, Tommy Genesis, Alice Longyu-Gao, Mothica, Uffie, and Sizzy Rocket, with each artist bringing their unique flair to the project. The result is an immersive sonic journey that reflects both personal and collective creative freedom.
Speaking about the vision behind F.I.L.T.H., Gunnulfsen shared, “It’s a self-produced collaborative music project between friends and past tour-mates. I wanted to make a small project where some other female/non-binary artists could hop into the world of PVRIS and vice-versa, have as much control over the lyrics and music as they wanted, and simply just have fun making music together!”
The EP was produced, mixed, and mastered entirely by women and non-binary friends, with Kayla Reagan and Idania Valencia handling the technical aspects. It was primarily written in Gunnulfsen’s apartment and completed while on tour, highlighting the collaborative and organic nature of the process. “Everyone had free rein to write what they wanted and add their own voice (figuratively and literally) to each track,” she added.
The mixtape’s tracklist boasts standout songs like “BURN THE WITCH” featuring Tommy Genesis and Alice Longyu-Gao, the title track “F.I.L.T.H” with Uffie and Sizzy Rocket, and “REPTILIAN” featuring Mothica. Each song showcases the unique talents of its contributors, creating a space where experimental soundscapes thrive.
Beyond its catchy melodies and inventive production, F.I.L.T.H. carries a deeper message about the lack of female representation in the music industry, something Gunnulfsen has experienced firsthand over her decade-long career. “While there are already so many iconic and incredible female producers, writers, engineers out there… there is nowhere near the amount that there should be,” she explained. “I think I’ve truly been in hundreds of writing/producing sessions at this point in my career, and I can recall less than 20 of those that were with female writers and around 10 that were with female producers.”
Gunnulfsen also emphasised the need for more organic collaborations between women in the industry, free from the tokenisation that often comes with such efforts. “These collaborations should be happening organically regardless of who is watching,” she said, expressing a desire to create a space where female and non-binary artists can “express whatever we want and get to experiment sonically.”
F.I.L.T.H. is not just a one-off experiment for Gunnulfsen. She envisions this project as the first of many in a series designed to continue showcasing underrepresented voices in music. “I don’t want this to be the only ‘volume’ of this project,” she said. “There’s too many bad bitches in all music-making roles out there to cover in just one release like this. This is something I’d love to continue and grow in.”
With F.I.L.T.H., PVRIS invites listeners into a bold, new era—one where creativity is shared, boundaries are pushed, and underrepresented voices are amplified.
