Metalcore heavyweights Of Mice & Men have unleashed their brand new single “Troubled Water”, the latest taste of their forthcoming ninth album Another Miracle, set to arrive November 14th via Century Media Records.
The track finds the band diving into darker sonic territory, laced with electronic textures, crushing riffs, and what they describe as “sci-fi nightmare energy.” Lyrically, “Troubled Water” cuts deep, exploring toxic connections and one-sided relationships that drain more than they give.
‘Troubled Water’ is about setting boundaries, about vampiric and apathetic relationships with people who only seem to seek connection when it benefits them, and about how maintaining a dying, one-sided connection just leads to resentment. It definitely takes us in a darker, more menacing direction sonically and visually. Heavy headbangable riffs paired with pure sci-fi nightmare energy makes this track one of our favourites off the album.”
The accompanying video, directed once again by Mike Matsui, leans into that vibe with practical sets, eerie lighting, and a dystopian sci-fi aesthetic designed to reflect the song’s underlying tension.
“Shooting this video was a lot of fun. He had a vision of utilising predominantly physical sets and practical camera and lighting effects to create a sci-fi landscape that reflects the interplay of different tensions heard in the song.”
Drummer Valentino Arteaga adds that Another Miracle is the band’s most ambitious and self-contained project yet: “The process of self-recording and self-producing this album as well the last two has seen us really trying to one up what we’ve done in the past – and it’s on us to do that. On this album in particular, we wanted to push the boundaries of what that sounds like for our band.”
Another Miracle will be Of Mice & Men’s first album since 2023’s Tether and their debut release with Century Media. Fans have already been given a glimpse of the new era through the record’s title track and recent single “Wake Up”
The band are currently tearing up US festivals and will bring their new material to fans across Europe and the UK this winter with a headline run kicking off November 27th in Hamburg and wrapping up December 14th in Glasgow.
