newshapes Drop New Single “falling away”

Scottish four-piece newshapes are back with their latest single, “falling away”, released via LAB Records ahead of their headline UK dates.
Self-produced by the band and mixed by Zach Jones (known for work with Scene Queen, Maggie Lindemann, Nova Twins, and Fever 333), “falling away” channels the introspective emo vibes of Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, and Dashboard Confessional.
Speaking on the track, the band said: “falling away continues the new story that ‘baptise’ started for us, in more than one way. 2025 saw us face our biggest challenges yet and come out stronger and louder than ever before, and we look at 2026 as our chance to prove that we have what it takes to ‘fly the flag’ for alternative music from Scotland. There’s such a growing space for heavy music in today’s world, and we’re always looking to push the boundaries where rock, pop and metal collide — to bring people with different tastes, backgrounds and lived experiences together under one roof.”
Fans can catch newshapes live on March 21st at Downstairs at The Dome in London, before shows in Manchester (22nd March) and Edinburgh (28th March). Following these dates, the band embarks on a massive 14-date UK & European tour alongside Canadian rockers never easy.
