HOUSE OF PROTECTION share new single ‘Being One’

House of Protection, the brand new project from Aric Improta and Stephen Harrison’s are perhaps one of the most talked about new acts of 2024 and they are hitting the ground running. Having only announced their formation in Apri this year, the duo have already released two singles ‘It’s Supposed To Hurt’ and ‘Learn To Forget’ to acclaim from both critics and fans and now they have just dropped another brand new single ‘Being One’. The song, which is again produced by ex Bring Me The Horizon member Jordan Fish, takes a step back from the hardcore punk fuelled sounds of their previous singles to deliver a melodic electronic dance anthem. Deep bass lines, gliding pads and arpeggiated synths dance on top of Aric’s fast drum and bass grooves as Steve showcases his smooth melodic vocals for the first time. It’s a fresh sound from the band who seem to be enjoying the freedom this project brings and allowing them to experiment and not be confined to any box or genre.

Speaking on the single, Aric shares, “‘Being One’ was totally different for us. I’ve always loved playing drum & bass, so Jordan and I immediately clicked on the rhythmic ideas. As a whole, I feel like Steve’s vocals were a huge step up from our previous demos and it gave us a new dynamic to work with moving forward. This song was definitely made to listen to on a long drive at night. We talked about that a lot when writing the lyrics and filming the music video.”

The official video directed by Kevin Garcia (Spiritbox, Bush, Tinashe), was shot over the last few months, capturing moments whenever the band found themselves in a unique location. From singing on a buoy in the middle of the ocean, to drumming on an amusement park carousel, it’s reminiscent of the fast-paced frenetic scenes from the classic 1981 film ‘Koyaanisqatsi’.
