Following a run of high-profile festival slots and support dates with nu metal icons Kittie, LA dark alt-rockers Holy Wars have dropped their explosive new single “Crucify”, out now via Pale Chord/Rise Records BMG. A sharp left turn from the emotionally raw “I Feel Everything” released earlier this year, “Crucify” sees the band deliver a venomous gut-punch of fury and catharsis. Co-written and co-produced with Cody Quistad of Wage War, the track blends haunting melodies with throat-shredding screams, pulling listeners into a cinematic storm.
“‘Crucify’ was written as a reckoning,” reveals vocalist Kat Leon: “Years ago, I got out of a toxic relationship — the last words my ex said to me were, ‘I wish you nothing but the worst.’ Within six months, both of my parents had passed away. I’ve carried the weight of those words like a curse, buried in grief and silence until now. Writing ‘Crucify’ became my way of purging that pain and finally reclaiming my power.”
Reflecting on their breakout year, Leon says: “You never truly learn who you are as an artist until you hit the road hard. This past year gave us a ton of confidence and clarity going into the future of this band.”
Stay tuned for more from Holy Wars in 2025.
