Manchester metallic hardcore risers Guilt Trip have kicked off the week with a statement of intent. The five-piece surprise-dropped their brand new three-song EP, God Forgives, and it hits hard. The band continue their rapid ascent through the heavy music ranks with a release that sharpens everything fans have come to expect from them.

God Forgives features two brand new cuts ‘Dirt’ and ‘Angel Eyes’ alongside a fresh mix of previously released track ‘Burn’.

To accompany the release, the band have unveiled a two-part music video event featuring both ‘Dirt’ and ‘Angel Eyes,’ a one-two knockout that expands the EP’s themes beyond pure performance.

Speaking on the new release, frontman Jay Valentine explains: “’God Forgives’ is a culmination of progress and the embodiment of Guilt Trip’s identity, whilst consciously trying to build on the style and songwriting on ‘Severance’ we are yet embracing and moving with the sound we achieved on that record… The songs were written with one thing in mind: ‘Make it better’ and we hope we have hit the mark for every Guilt Trip fan out there.”

On the vision behind the video, he adds: “It was birthed by a mix of transitioning lyrical themes into visuals and original ideas that we felt best represented the subject matter metaphorically. We wanted to show something other than just a live performance — a story that could entertain while relating to the music and still convey a message but be open enough for the watcher to make their own interpretations.”

Sonically, God Forgives leans fully into the band’s gritty, groove-laden metallic hardcore attack, balancing punishing riffs with tightly honed songwriting. It also serves as a preview of their forthcoming full-length, suggesting even bigger things on the horizon.

Guilt Trip will also hit the road across North America on a co-headline run with Malevolence, kicking off March 31 and running through April.
