GORE. Return with New Single “SEPSIS”

Texas metal force GORE. are back and heavier than ever with the release of “SEPSIS,” their first new music of 2025. Following last year’s breakthrough A Bud That Never Blooms EP on Spinefarm Records, the quartet — vocalist Haley Roughton, guitarist Alex Reyes, bassist Devin Birchfield, and newly recruited drummer Wills Weller (ex-Toothgrinder) — continue to push emotional vulnerability to the forefront of modern metal.
“This song is about a friend who was in a relationship with someone diagnosed with bipolar disorder (BPD) that went untreated,” explains Roughton. “I attempted to write it from his perspective, after seeing him try to salvage a relationship where he was constantly challenged and abused. I could only imagine how difficult it is knowing that the person you love is ill and staying by their side, even when the relationship feels like torment.”
The accompanying music video for “SEPSIS” features a haunting, emotional solo performance from Roughton, who appears doubled throughout to reflect the inner turmoil of the song’s narrative. “The music video reflects that isolation and what it’s like to be trapped inside your own head and thoughts,” Roughton adds. “Hence why it’s just me and a double the whole time.”
