Pop-punk royalty Good Charlotte have just dropped the official music video for their latest single “Stepper”, the second offering from their upcoming album Motel Du Cap, set for release on 8th August via Atlantic Records.

Directed by Erik Rojas, the video takes fans inside the quirky and colorful world of a motel where Benji and Joel Madden play maintenance managers overseeing a series of oddball guests. As the patrons sing along to “Stepper” while going about their daily routines, they slowly transform, becoming more empowered and fully themselves. It’s a visual metaphor for the track’s uplifting message about resilience, self-love, and community.

Stepper is a song about showing up for life, for yourself, and for the people you love,” Benji and Joel explain. “Getting up everyday and trying your best to make it, not just for your dreams but for the dreams you share with the people you love. Celebrate each other and everything you’ve been through together”

Produced by Zakk Cervini and Jordan Fish, with lyrics and melody by the Madden brothers, “Stepper” follows last month’s gritty, defiant single Rejects”, which marked the band’s return after a seven-year studio silence.

Both tracks are part of the highly anticipated Motel Du Cap, which marks Good Charlotte’s eighth studio album and the first since 2018’s Generation Rx. Described as the band’s most personal work yet, the album sees the original lineup of Benji, Joel, Billy Martin, and Paul Thomas reunited and creatively recharged.

The spark for the new record came from an impromptu private show the band played at the iconic Hotel du Cap in France last year. “It was this wild, once-in-a-lifetime vibe,” recalls Joel. “No pressure, just pure, unfiltered connection. It reminded us why we started this in the first place.

To build the hype, Good Charlotte recently treated a small crowd in Los Angeles to an exclusive, intimate show featuring both “Stepper” and “Rejects,” along with unreleased material from Motel Du Cap. Fans in Maryland, the band’s home state, are also in for a treat – a special fan event at the Blue Crabs baseball stadium in Waldorf on 3rd August, where attendees will get the first full listen of the album.
