Free Throw Release New Single “Mike Nolan’s Long Weekend” Featuring Dom Fox From Bad Luck

Philadelphia emo outfit Free Throw have returned with their first new music in over two years, dropping the single “Mike Nolan’s Long Weekend”, featuring Dom Fox from Bad Luck.
Vocalist Cory Castro explains the track dives beneath the surface of what listeners might expect. “’Mike Nolan’s Long Weekend’ at its core, is a song about feeling misunderstood, or the feeling that people only look at what you say on a surface level” explains vocalist Cory Castro. “For instance, when I write songs about drinking and the issues that come with it, sometimes people just treat it like a party song. In reality, I’m usually exploring a much darker theme. This song explores how sometimes there can be something a little more serious hiding slightly beneath the surface.”
This marks a new chapter for Free Throw following a year-long celebration of the 10th anniversary of their classic album Those Days Are Gone. The anniversary saw a deluxe edition released featuring collaborations with Tades Sanville (Hot Mulligan), Nathan Hardy (Microwave), Pat Miranda (Movements), Christine Goodwyne (Pool Kids), and Yvette Young (Covet), alongside live versions of the original tracks. The band also toured extensively, performing the record in full to sold-out crowds nationwide.
Free Throw are set to hit the road this month for a packed schedule. In the US, they’ll tour with label mates Chase Petra and TRSH, make an appearance at Riot Fest in Chicago, and support The Menzingers at Stone Pony Summer Stage. Autumn sees the band heading to the UK and Europe for dates with Prince Daddy & The Hyena and as part of the Common Thread Tour.
