Austin, TX four-piece Die Spitz have dropped their much-anticipated debut album, Something to Consume, today through Third Man Records, delivering a fierce mix of punk energy, political edge, and unbridled friendship.

On Something to Consume, Die Spitz channel their passion, identity, and artistry to confront the decay and chaos of modern life. “There’s a political side to it, but addiction and love can also be all-consuming,” says Eleanor Livingston. The band’s inventive approach sees them swapping instruments, sharing songwriting and vocal duties, and generating high-voltage tracks that hit like concussive bursts. Singles like “Throw Yourself to the Sword,” “Pop Punk Anthem (Sorry for the Delay),” “Punishers,” and “RIDING WITH MY GIRLS” showcase the band’s dynamic range, the latter is their latest single which accompanied by a video directed by Bita Ghassemi.

“RIDING WITH MY GIRLS is exactly how it sounds. Leaving your old self behind and jumping into a life only seen in dreams, all becomes possible when you rely and gain energy from the beautiful gift that comes from femininity and friendship.” says Livingston. “Leave all the things you hate and the people dragging you down behind. You got bigger fish to fry.”

The album’s raucous conviction is amplified by the production of Studio 4’s Will Yip (Turnstile, Mannequin Pussy). Despite being only in their 20s, Die Spitz’s musical prowess positions them in a lineage of artists seeking to inspire change. “Some people aren’t interested in being political activists via music, but it weighs on me heavily and I feel misaligned with my calling if I don’t,” Chloe De St. Aubin adds. “The four of us are free spirits with multiple interests, and there’s no limit or power dynamic that can derail us.”

Die Spitz are currently on tour supporting Viagra Boys, with their own headline run kicking off next month.
