Creeper have risen once again from the shadows to announce the official release date of ‘Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death’, the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2023 album Sanguivore. Set for release this Halloween (of course) via Spinefarm Records, the sequel plunges even deeper into the gothic rock opera universe the band have masterfully crafted.

The announcement arrives alongside the new single, ‘Blood Magick (It’s A Ritual)’, a theatrical ’80s metal soaked anthem with an accompanying music video full of vampiric & gothic grandeur. Directed by Harry Steel, the video see’s Creeper take the role as a fictional Vampire band in what vocalist William Von Ghould describes as a “a blood-soaked, sexed-up, psychedelic vampire rock fantasy… Easily one of the wildest videos we’ve ever made.”

Inspired by the Satanic Panic of the 1980s and the hysteria surrounding heavy metal’s darkest hour, this thematic sequel spins a new horror anthology-style tale but with a vampire twist. Musically, Sanguivore II is set to channel the spirits of classic rock: duelling guitars à la Priest and Maiden, soaring stadium hooks, darkwave synths, saxophone flourishes, and stacked vocal harmonies all stitched together by returning producer Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Rammstein, Royal Blood).

Speaking on the concept of the record William shares: “Beneath the flashing neon of a distant dream, a rock and roll nightmare is coming true. A vampire band rampages across 1980s America, leaving only corpses behind. But on the horizon, a shadow stirs. Part slasher, part satanic panic nightmare, a new force rises through the mist, ready to hunt the hunter. The Mistress Of Death is a vampire huntress on a path to end this vampire bloodline for good. But can she stake their hearts before the final curtain falls?”
