Transatlantic pop-rock favourites As It Is are back with their first new music from the classic lineup since 2018. The band have released ‘Lose Your Way & Find Yourself’, marking their debut on new label FLG and signalling a bold, personal new chapter.
Born from a journey of friendship, healing, and self-discovery, the single sees the band reconnecting not just as musicians as frontman Patty Walters explains:“I now have brothers because of As It Is… Because of how much they loved me and showed up for me when I needed them. I feel like we are going to be brothers first always and till the end because of that.”
The result is a cathartic, deeply personal track. With a sound inspired by the music that shaped Patty and Ben Langford-Biss growing up, ” We haven’t written a song together that is brutal heart on sleeve honesty in what we have gone through without having to fit it to a narrative or fit it to an album,” Ben explains. “However you can never manufacture genuine connection with people. Just find what is honest to you and honest to your journey, and that’s all any artist has to offer to the world.”
The official one-shot video, choreographed by Patty and Kate Hannah, mirrors the track’s themes of transformation, from pain to expression, from isolation to joy, capturing the band’s renewed spirit.
Patty shares: “In the past I had no choice but to be in As It Is. This new era of the band is my choice. Our choice. A choice”
The release follows the band’s recent reformation, which included a b-sides and rarities collection, ‘A Decade Uneventful’, and a re-recorded, guest-filled version of their debut album, ‘Never Happy, Ever After’. The band recently returned to live stages at Slam Dunk festivals and are now gearing up for a UK tour celebrating the latter.
