ARCTANGENT FESTIVAL announce new acts for 2024
ArcTanGent Festival turns double digits this year and today have revealed their biggest ever band announcement with over 40 new names added to the bill. Amongst the bands added are Scottish post rock band Mogwai, who play the festival for the very first time, atmospheric Texan quartet Explosions In The Sky, schizophrenic genre hoppers Clown Core, Norwegian black metal pioneer and multi instrumentalist Ihsahn, stoner/doom metal band Electric Wizard, UK metallers Earthtone9, Belgian post-metal band Amenra, New York solo artist Julie Christmas, Massachusetts post rock band Caspian, British math-rock band Delta Sleep, NYC hardcore 3 piece Show Me The Body and the Japanese psych rock band Bo Ningen. There will also be a very special performance from UK 3 piece Brontide who are reforming and playing their album ‘Artery’ in full.
These acts and more will be joining the already stacked bill which includes Messhugah, Animals As Leaders (as an EU exclusive), Plini, Red Fang, And So I Watch You From Afar and the farewell show from Three Trapped Tigers.
Festival organiser and booker James Scarlett says: “As we’re celebrating 10 years of ArcTanGent we made a list of the bands that have never played that we’ve always wanted to make it more special than ever, and naturally Mogwai were top of that list. We’re over the moon to also be bringing the likes of Electric Wizard and Clown Core to their first ever ATG. We weren’t lying when we said our 10th year is going to be the biggest ATG ever – it’s going to be biblical!”
Speaking on their reformation Brontide says: “After playing the first ever ATG back in 2013, we knew that one day we’d love to come back.”says Brontide. “2024 not only marks the festivals 10th year, but our 2nd album, Artery’s 10 year Anniversary. The timing couldn’t be more perfect and we’re so happy to have this moment to open up a new chapter for Brontide.”
