Ando San releases new single ‘iLL’

LA-born and bred, Ando San has always been an artist who refuses to stay in one lane. From instrumental math rock to jazzy hip-hop, he’s constantly experimenting with the intersections of his eclectic influences. Last year’s OH KAY E.P saw him venturing into harder-edged, boom-bap funk fusion territory and now he’s back with a new single that digs even deeper into his roots.
Ando San drops iLL, a track he describes as a raw reflection on the grind of independent artistry: “iLL is a song that highlights how trying to build a career as an independent artist requires so much work and so many decisions to be made all the time, that it can physically make you unwell,” he shares. “Musically, this song is a culmination of my metal and hip-hop roots. I’ve never really had harsh vocals in my music, and I’ve always been able to do it since I was a teenager—I actually started out as a metal vocalist before I was a rapper.”
iLL marks another bold step in Ando San’s ever-evolving sound, blending blistering vocal intensity with sharp, rhythmic hip-hop production. For fans of genre-defying music that balances technical skill with raw emotion, this is one track you won’t want to miss.
