British post-metalcore outfit ACRES have revealed plans to release an extended edition of their album The Host on September 26th via Solid State Records. Dubbed The Host (Part 2), the expanded version serves as both a continuation and completion of the record, introducing three brand-new tracks.
Kicking things off is the brand new single “Push Me Away”, featuring guest vocals from Landon Tewers of The Plot In You. Speaking about the track, ACRES explain: “‘Push Me Away’ is almost like a confession of self-doubt, a reflection on feeling like you’re the weight holding someone back, and believing they’d be better off without you. When we wrote this in the studio, we instantly knew this was the song we wanted to have a feature on and we honestly couldn’t think of anyone better than Landon. We’re so grateful he wanted to be part of this!”
Produced in collaboration with Landon Tewers, The Host showcases ACRES’ signature mix of soaring melodies, crushing grooves, and atmospheric soundscapes. Vocalist Ben Lumber calls it a bold new chapter for the band: ““The Host represents a bold step in a new direction for us as a band, we’ve always pushed ourselves to evolve with every album and never write the same record twice… This time the process was unlike anything we’ve done before, working with Landon Tewers brought a fresh perspective and added a new flair to our sound that we’re really excited about!”
