PVRIS release new song ‘Oil & Water’
PVRIS have a huge year ahead, they will be embarking on a massive headline UK/EU tour this month before finishing it off across North America in June as well as some dates supporting the legendary The Smashing Pumpkins in August, not only that but brand new music is come think and fast. Off the back of their previous single “Burn The Witch” with Tommy Genesis and Alice Longyu-Gao, PVRIS AKA Lyndsey Gunnulfsen has just dropped brand new single “Oil & Water”. The song is a beautifully crafted electronically centred piece with gliding synths, head bobbing drum grooves and atmospheric flourishes setting the ground work for Gunnulfsen’s vocals to shine upon as she delivers a heart felt performance.
Speaking on the song Lyndsey says: “The song is about the push and pull of mismatched love and the lengths you’d go to make it work. I wrote this while we were on tour with Poppy in the U.S. I rented a house (which may have been haunted) in Kansas City on two of our off-days and wrote/recorded the music, verse and pre-chorus there… Finished the chorus and rest of the song in LA with Kanner. Finished producing and finalized the track in Northern California in Nevada City”
