Pop tinged hardcore sounds glorious with newshapes single “feel it”

The Scottish heavy scene is truly unmissable. From the obvious selects such as Biffy Clyro and Vukovi through to acts like Dead Pony (whom we’ve supported on The Newlist before), there’s talent in all corners and they’re barking up. newshapes are only 2 years old as a band but have already earnt their status among local and national fans alike. With their new single “feel it” – written about life after love – they invite the gruff roar of Scott Kennedy of Bleed From Within to join them on the track adding his signature power to the lyrics beneath.

Speaking about ‘feel it’ newshapes vocalist Ian Mann comments, “After finishing our debut EP I felt like there were still a few things that I hadn’t quite managed to release from within myself, and continued writing to try and find words that would bring this creative chapter of the band to a close. ‘feel it’ is both a literal and spiritual successor to the emotions and thoughts explored during ‘i hope this finds you’, looking at a life beyond love after an EP that kind of tended to indulge feelings of heartbreak.”

Bleed From Within vocalist Scott Kennedy speaks about featuring on the track “I’m really stoked to be a part of the new single from my hometown boys newshapes. I’m a huge fan of this style of music and it’s rare I get asked to guest on stuff of this genre, it was a no brainer for me.”
