Fresh off the back of their UK tour with Orbit Culture, metalcore rising stars Defects are back with a fresh new lyric video for single ‘Modern Error’ taken from their upcoming debut album of the same name which is set to be unleashed in May this year.

The record itself comes with a lot of personal stories told by each band member and this pieces together various experiences bringing an emotional connection and meaning to their debut. ‘Modern Error’ kicks off in typical Defects style with punching guitar riffs leading up to sharp and heavy vocals from lead singer Tony Maue. The chorus is easy to imagine a huge crowd sing-a-long with Tony delivering some huge cleans before more striking riffs and a beat that you can’t stand still to. The breakdown that follows slaps hard with an incredible growl thrown in for good measure. The lyrical content is depicted through the accompanying lyric video as the band gives out a word of warning to the powers running the world that things need to change.

The album ‘Modern Error’ is set to hit our ears on the 24th May this year on Mascot Records and tells a story of how far the band have come from falling out of love of the scene to taking to the stage at Bloodstock Festival and a mammoth tour last December with Of Mice & Men. They have smashed into 2024 in style and are looking to rise to the top.
