Fresh off a breakout 2025 that saw them unleash their debut album MY APOLOGIES TO THE CHEF, rising punk force Winona Fighter are wasting no time in 2026. The band return in full attack mode with their blistering new single “BOMBS AWAY”, out now via Rise Records.
Known for their confrontational, high-voltage blend of punk energy and unfiltered honesty, Winona Fighter continue to sharpen their identity on the new track, doubling down on the intensity that’s quickly made them one of the most exciting new names in the scene.
Frontwoman Coco Kinnon sums up the intent behind the release simply, but powerfully: “Everybody needs a song right now.”
“BOMBS AWAY” follows the band’s critically acclaimed debut album MY APOLOGIES TO THE CHEF, which was later expanded with a deluxe edition last year. That release added acoustic re-workings of every track, plus covers of the Beastie Boys – Sabotage and Violent Femmes – Blister In The Sun, alongside the new cut “(Don’t Get) CLOSE”, further showcasing the band’s range beyond their explosive core sound.
Live, Winona Fighter show no signs of slowing down either. The band hit the stage at Welcome To Rockville later today, before joining the idobi Radio Summer School Tour this summer. The month-long run kicks off June 19th and also features Honey Revenge, South Arcade, Games We Play, and Chase Petra. They’ll also make a return to Vans Warped Tour this year, appearing at both the Long Beach and Mexico City dates.
