MALEVOLENCE RELEASE NOSTALGIC VIDEO FOR NEW RAGER “STILL WATERS RUN DEEP”
Malevolence simply can’t miss these days! They have just a dropped another single & video from their new album ‘Malicious Intent’ (out May 20th on Nuclear Blast Records) entitled “Still Waters Run Deep” and it provides everything you’ve come to love and expect from the band. They effortlessly throw out technical riff after riff that most metal bands would dream of writing, they use a combination of old school licks and grooves with modern metal techniques and production as well as plenty good old fashioned beatdowns to create a sound which is very much their own nowadays. They’re not afraid to change tempo during the track too, which a lot modern metal seems to lack, this creates so much more dynamics and energy, especially when the heavy aspects of the song drop. Alex’s aggressive hardcore inspired vocals cut through like a knife and Kon’s Crowbar-esque gritty cleans add the singalong parts. The video starts with the text on screen reading “Malevolence formed in 2006, playing their first shows locally with the line up you see today in 2009. After hundreds of shows and thousands of hours in the van and practice room, being a part of this band has been the most rewarding experience in our lives. This video is a tribute to the journey we have set upon together and the bond it has formed between us. 2009 til infinity.” followed by a montage of clips of them playing throughout the years and boy do they look young in some of them! It just goes to show the passion they have for the band having essentially all grown up together in Malevolence and all that hard work is definitely paying off today.
