Floridian metal titans Wage War are back and heavier than ever. The band have announced their upcoming EP, It Calls Me By Name, dropping on 17th April 2026 via Fearless Records. Leading the charge is the ferocious new single, ‘Song of the Swamp’, which comes paired with a video that captures the raw intensity of the track. If you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to be hunted in the steamy, predator-filled swamps of Florida, this song delivers it in full force. From bloodthirsty screams to crushing riffs and punishing drums, Wage War leave nothing standing. As the lyrics warn, you’ll be “overpowered” by every note.
“The tone setter,” the band says of the single. Song of the Swamp is rooted in their home state, drawing from Florida’s untamed nature. “Driven by Florida and the raw aggression of nature, it’s a heavy track built on tension and hostility.”
The EP as a whole promises more of the signature Wage War intensity. “It Calls Me By Name is about being drawn to your roots,” the band explains. “This isn’t a concept EP but is meant to live in its own world. Five tracks shaped by Florida, the swamp, and the relentless aggression of nature. Built heavy, but still driven by the hooks that have defined us. It’s our signature sound amplified and pushed further into metal than we’ve ever taken it.”
