VOWER bring heart & soul into their metal medley.
Let’s start with intent: this bands music makes you stop and pay attention. Thoughtful mathsy melodies, catchy rifffs alongside post-hardcore sensibility and a gritty yet melifluous vocal perfomance. If you’re hearing flickers of Toska, Black Peaks, Palm Reader then you’re not wrong. This band features some of the sensational talent from each of these projects brought to life in a new way. It’s powerful.
With one of the most identifable vocal styles in the alternative metal space, Josh Mckeown glides between gutteral outbursts and commanding melodies with the ease we’ve come to learn with his previous bands. You can liken the synergy between the guitars and bass to that of a glorious conversation of tone and riff, driven by the charging yet elegant drums. Their EP ‘ Apricity’ is almost a tease of the beginning of an era of defining music from this band. Alongside the lead single “Shroud”, “False Rituals” is a stunning concoction prog and post-metal to choose as a second track of choice.
Being front row at 2000 Trees Festival (their 4th ever set), this is an incredible introduction to many and judging by the beaming smilles of the band member as they play and thank the crowd in their set, we’re hoping to see many more.
A new form of expression from the ashes of two incredible British bands. Welcome to the beauty of VOWER:
