UNWELL Share Orchestral Rework ‘Airless (Fantasy Edition)’

Detroit pop-punk band UNWELL have released a brand new reimagined version of their track ‘Airless’. Originally featured on the band’s album Allegoria, the new version sees UNWELL take a bold and cinematic approach to reworking the fan favourite track. Rather than stripping the song back into a traditional acoustic format, the band instead expanded on the immersive world and lore surrounding Allegoria, transforming ‘Airless’ into an emotionally rich orchestral piece.

Working alongside accomplished cellist Gavin Langley, the band arranged the track for a four-piece string quartet and piano, bringing a haunting new atmosphere to the song while amplifying its emotional depth.

Speaking on the release, the band shared: “We wanted to take a different approach to ‘acoustic’ tracks. When we were messing around with the idea, we loved the idea of adding more lore to our world of ‘Allegoria’ that we created. With that in mind, we started working with our friend and accomplished cellist, Gavin Langley, to create ‘Fantasy’ versions of these songs. Each of these songs were arranged for a 4 piece string quartet and piano to bring the swirling emotions weaved into each track out on display to it’s fullest potential.”
