UK alternative rising stars unpeople are back with with brand new music, dropping their explosive genre blurring new single ‘clouds’ out now via Sharptone Records. Blending soaring hooks, addictive harmonies, crushing riffs, huge singalong moments and even a black metal infused bridge, ‘clouds’ captures the band at their most focused and defiant yet. It’s a track that doesn’t just hit hard sonically, but also doubles down on the band’s core message: ignore the noise, trust your instincts, and resist the pull of trends and external expectations.

Frontman Jake Crawford explains the ethos behind the track: “clouds is essentially about not letting yourself be influenced by what other people think you should be doing to get ahead artistically, and trusting your own vision and process. I could feel myself being pulled in lots of directions when we started the band and I’m glad we stuck to our guns. This song is us saying ‘not buying it’ — whether that’s quick fixes, trends, or how you’re supposed to present yourself.”

That sense of identity has been central to unpeople since their inception. Comprised of Jake Crawford, Luke Caley, Em Lodge, and Richard Rayner, the band channel collective frustration into a sound that fuses melodic accessibility with bone-rattling heaviness. Their name itself reflects their worldview  “unpeople”, a term for those deemed politically or socially overlooked reclaimed here as a space of unity and belonging.

Despite having only one EP to their name so far, the band have already made a serious impact with earlier releases like ‘the garden’ and ‘waste’, establishing a reputation for balancing chaos and melody in equal measure.

unpeople have already torn through stages supporting giants like Metallica and Coheed & Cambria, and their 2025/26 live schedule is stacking up fast, including a major Main Stage opening slot at Download Festival.

This summer also sees appearances across some of Europe’s biggest festivals, from Slam Dunk to Copenhell, before a UK stop at Radar Festival and a September headline date in Torquay.
