Scottish rock favourites Twin Atlantic have kicked off an exciting new era with the release of their latest single, ‘Don’t Quit It’, a bold and infectious burst of alt-pop that showcases the band’s trademark anthemic songwriting while embracing a fresh creative direction. The new track also marks the beginning of a new partnership with independent label Dance To The Radio.

Written by frontman Sam McTrusty, ‘Don’t Quit It’ is built around themes of perseverance, acceptance and pushing forward through life’s frustrations. Combining massive hooks with an uplifting energy, the song reflects a more instinctive and carefree songwriting approach while celebrating the joy of simply letting go and having fun. Adding another layer of significance, the track also serves as a tribute to the Scotland national football team as they prepare for their journey to the USA for this year’s World Cup.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, McTrusty said: “It’s about not being able to quit something, or someone, that no matter how much it hurts or drags you down, or disappoints or frustrates you sometimes, you can’t help but love it and need it. It’s accepting that it’s a part of you and without it you’d be less and so it’s worth the perseverance. I wanted to shine a big spotlight on that experience and make a big bold fun rock song, hands in the air, let go of the pretense, take off your seat belt, and feel the fun.”

Musically, ‘Don’t Quit It’ finds Twin Atlantic exploring a groove-driven sound that nods towards the electronic influence of Daft Punk, while retaining the emotional punch and soaring choruses that have become synonymous with the band’s identity.

The release is also notable for bringing together all four original members of Twin Atlantic on a recording for the first time in three albums. McTrusty is joined by founding bandmates Ross McNae, Barry McKenna and Craig Kneale, restoring the chemistry that helped establish the band’s signature sound across their acclaimed catalogue.

With promises of more new music on the horizon, ‘Don’t Quit It’ feels like a confident statement of intent from a band that continues to push forward while remaining true to its roots.
