TRASH BOAT release new single ‘Better Than Yesterday’

St Albans modern rock quintet Trash Boat announced their long awaited new album “Heaven Can Wait” last month and today have given us another taste of it with new single ‘Better Than Yesterday’. The song is a lighter sound than the previous single but as with all Trash Boat releases, they do both incredibly well. ‘Better Than Yesterday’ opens with floaty synths, blissful guitars, electronics and frontman Tobi Duncan’s delicate vocals before exploding into a huge anthemic choruses full of emotionally charged sing-a-long melodies.

Speaking of the track, Tobi Duncan shares: “this song centres around the classic saying ‘comparison is the death of joy’. It creeps into everything I do, who does what I do better than me, who makes more money, who’s better looking, who’s stronger, who’s in a bigger band, focusing on everything that I haven’t (yet) managed to achieve and putting myself down because of it, rather than bigging myself up for what I have already done or focusing on achieving more.

This feeling can make you lose faith with anything creative and has crept into my mind regarding music multiple times,” he adds. ‘“The song is a reminder to not try to be better than anyone other than yesterdays self, the only person you should focus on beating!”
