THE HEAVY MUSIC AWARDS 2022 – ALL THE WINNERS
The 6th annual Heavy Music Awards went down last night, seeing a plethora of artists from the heavier side of music celebrated once again at a night full of live music, flashy outfits, lots of booze and of course the awards themselves at London’s o2 Kentish Town Forum.
Hosted once again by Alex Baker with Jon Mahon spinning the tunes in between, the night saw blistering live performances from Beartooth, Holding Absence, Meet Me @ The Altar and Static Dress as well as the awards which were each presented by of a host of famous faces and industry professionals.
The big winners on the night were Brighton’s Architects, who took home Best Album for their UK number one LP ‘For Those That Wish To Exist’, as well as Best UK Artist
Not only did they tear the house down with their live set, Beartooth also claimed Best International Artist
One of our ones to watch Cassyette wonthe Best UK Breakthrough Artist!
Pop Punk’s new rising star KennyHoopla won the Best International Breakthrough Artist.
Enter Shikari took home Best Live Artist, an award they first took home at the inaugural HMAs in 2017.
Germany’s Electric Callboy deservedly won Best Video for ‘Pump It’!
Bring Me The Horizon took home the title of Best Single for ‘DiE4u.’
On Wednesdays We Wear Black picked up Best Podcast
Mathieu Nozières earned Best Album Artwork for Trivium‘s ‘In The Court Of The Dragon’,
The combination of Carl Bown and Bullet For My Valentine were awarded Best Production for the band’s latest self-titled album!
In one of two categories not voted for by the public, While She Sleeps were awarded the inaugural Innovation Award for the spectacular success of their Sleeps Society platform!
While The H award went to the Heavy Metal Truants, the awesome charity which has seen them now donate over £1m to charity.
Overall, it was another great night at the HMAs, celebrating and championing the music that doesn’t get the limelight it should.
