Spiritbox Release New Single “The Void”
Heavy music’s brightest sparks Spiritbox are back with brand new music in the form of single and video visualiser for “The Void”. Ahead of the bands sold out UK tour and string of festival performances in the coming months, Spiritbox have given us something new to wrap our ears around and it’s a beautifully crafted sonic journey of a song. “The Void” combines many influences in to one, from soaring electronic ambiences and arpeggios filling up the soundscape to pummelling upbeat drums and downtuned riffs all painting the landscape for vocalist Courtney LaPlante’s haunting voice to dance all over. It’s another demonstration of Spiritbox’s uniqueness and a breath of fresh in a music scene that can often seem stagnant.
Speaking on the “The Void” LaPlante shares, “The Void is a song that came about very quickly. I didn’t have to fight with anything to write it, and when that happens, I don’t argue with it. It’s a type of song that I’ve been wanting to write for a long time, I’ve heard it hundreds of times now, and it makes me so happy every time I hear it. It’s been such an amazing experience playing this song on our tour, and watching people hear it for the first time, in real time.”
