Simple Plan announce Prime Video documentary

Multi-platinum-selling pop-punk icons Simple Plan have announced an upcoming documentary that will take fans behind the scenes of their remarkable 25-year career. Revealed by frontman Pierre Bouvier during the band’s set at the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas, the documentary is currently in production with Sphere Media and is set to debut globally on Prime Video in 2025.

“This movie is the centrepiece of the band’s 25th anniversary celebrations and probably one of the most ambitious and special projects we’ve ever been a part of,” Simple Plan shared in a statement. “Reaching this milestone felt like the perfect moment to look back, reflect, and give our fans an inside look into our lives, both on tour and at home.”

The documentary, still untitled, promises to provide an intimate look at the band’s journey, featuring never-before-seen archival footage and exclusive interviews with members of the punk rock community, including Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, Avril Lavigne, and members of The Offspring and NOFX.

Directed by Didier Charette, who traveled with the band for a year, capturing everything from life on the road to rare glimpses of their offstage moments. “We gave Didier unprecedented access to the band, and our archives, and trusted him to tell our story,” the band continued. “We’re so proud of this movie and can’t wait for our fans to watch it and get to know us like never before!”

Shaun Alperin, Head of Content for Prime Video Canada, echoed the excitement, calling Simple Plan “one of the most iconic bands from the 2000s.” He added, “Their music and fun-loving personalities have inspired millions of fans, and we’re thrilled to bring their story to Prime Video.”

In addition to the documentary, Simple Plan will be hitting the road in 2024 and 2025 for a global tour to celebrate their anniversary. See dates below.
