RITUALS ANNOUNCE NEW EP ‘I FOUND MYSELF IN THE DARK’

Sometimes artists need a little fortune to make it to that next level in their careers, and for modern metal four piece Rituals that fortune came in the form of Marshall Records’ THE DEAL competition in collaboration with Kerrang! Radio. The winners of the competition would receive an EP deal with Marshall plus get booked to perform at Download Festival. After countless entries and multiple rounds of voting, Rituals were eventually announced as the winners and their new EP ‘I FOUND MYSELF IN THE DARK’ is now set for release 3rd August 2023.

Speaking on the EP vocalist Lewis MacRae says: “This is the most we’ve pushed ourselves musically on a record… The EP stands as a statement piece with Marshall Records, and the heaviest, most melodic, and progressive work to date. It’s the proudest we have ever been as Rituals… The EP is meant to take you on a journey through mental growth, views on the state of the world, as well as some straight up demonic content, glistening melodies, and brutally crushing riffs. It’s eleven minutes of pure orchestrated Northern Chaos. This is opening doors and avenues for where Rituals will take our sound.”

You can sample the sounds Lewis is talking about on their latest single “Living Blind” which merges crushing riffs and visceral screams with huge catchy melodies and anthemic choruses. Speaking on the song the band adds: “The release of Living Blind feels like a turning point in Rituals. Lyrically based on the lack of awareness for others issues, problems and grief. Living in a world in which people only take and fail to give to one an another.” It’s an exciting release from and exciting band and is a great sign of things to come, keep your eyes and ears firmly on this band!
