French metalcore quartet Resolve have dropped their latest single, ‘Sandman,’ the second new track from their forthcoming album Human (Extended Cut), set for release on Friday, October 25, 2024 via Arising Empire. Following their hard-hitting single ‘Molotov,’ which kicked off the extended cut cycle, ‘Sandman’ delves into a darker, more haunting realm while staying true to the band’s emotive, anthemic sound. The track features heavy, ominous instrumentals contrasted with infectious, uplifting choruses, showcasing Resolve’s knack for blending intensity with emotional depth.
Resolve’s bassist Robin Mariat shed light on the song’s origins, explaining how it stemmed from a chilling personal experience: “Some months ago, Anthony (Resolve’s lead singer and songwriter) went through an episode of sleep paralysis. If you’re lucky enough to have never experienced it, imagine waking up in the dead of night with a terrifying figure looking over you, and being unable to move or ask for help. The next day, Anthony came up with the demo for Sandman — originally named Sleep Paralysis. That probably explains the nightmarish vibe of the track.”
“The choruses are epic and hopeful, a reminder that even in the darkest moments of our lives, there will always be something or someone to lift us up and bring us back into the light.”

“The Human (Extended Cut)” will feature the new singles Sandman and Molotov, alongside more fresh material, live performances, and tracks from the original version of Human. Speaking on the extended release Mariat adds:
“This is a new form of release for us, which is very exciting. We get to build up on the world that we shaped for Human, and these new tracks are the continuation of the story.”
Resolve’s 2021 sophomore album Human has already made waves, with its single Older Days—featuring Paleface Swiss and Ten56—going viral and amassing over 3.6 million streams. Mariat urges listeners to experience the full album, saying:
“The only thing we can ask for is for people to listen through the whole record, because if there’s one thing we’re sure of, it’s that this album has something for everyone, even people that may be far removed from metal.”
