PEST CONTROL state their mark with EP ‘YEAR OF THE PEST’

The past two years have seem hardcore have a real boost and many heavy music fans are adopting the wild and immediate thrill of the scene. Which is ace because the scene has always been there in the towns and cities across the world where the right indivdiuals find each other to make music or get sweaty at a show. But one thing events like Turnstile getting a GRAMMY nomination did do for the scene was open promoters and venues eyes more to this vibrant world, meaning more hardcore shows, more generations of bands forming or having opportunities to be heard and, of course, more and more first timers finding new loves. Wherever you come on this timeline of modern hardcore (a day1 or a curious but keen newbie), let’s connect you with some insane talent from the world of hardcore x thrash: PEST CONTROL.
Their brand new EP, ‘Year Of The Pest’ showcases a 4-track bonanza of boundless energy and the traditional confrontational edge that we love and embrace in this world. Themed on a post-apocalytic future dules by destrcuction, this EP is pretty dystopian, but laced with immediate meoldies that get stuck in. The resume of this band live is something to tip your hat to. This band work hard and tour hard; having some incredible memories with the likes of Turnstile, Obituary alongside iconic festivals such as Outbreak. And to top it all off, they’ll be back out on the road with Knocked Loose next year. So plenty of time to become accustomed to this thriving world that Pest Control (and many others) bring to live so vividly.
Hazey chaos; a blend of performance, audience energy and a Donnie Darko worthy rat help us embrace “Year Of The Pest” (title track from the EP”):
