New York’s genre-defying trailblazers Oxymorrons have dropped a new single, “Cool Being You”, a statement track that kicks off a new era for the band as they also announce a brand-new EP ‘Create. Destroy. Rebuild. Repeat.’, due out this Fall.
Entirely self-produced and recorded, “Cool Being You” is a dose of alternative, hip-hop, and punk, with a spinkling of metal thrown in for good measure — exactly the kind of sonic chaos Oxymorrons have built their name on. Opening with ambient textures and drum grooves before spiralling into explosive riffs, slick raps, and searing screams, the track is an anthem of self-acceptance and creative rebellion.
“This is for those who were told they have to fit into a box. ‘Cool Being You’ is about shaking that off and owning every piece of yourself,” says the band. “There’s freedom in being exactly who you are, and this track is the soundtrack to that energy.”
Now stripped down to a tight-knit three-piece — vocalist brothers Deee and KI alongside guitarist Jafé Paulino — the band is entering a new phase marked by complete independence and clarity of vision.
“We’re excited about this new chapter — it feels like a reset, but with everything we’ve learned along the way,” the band shares. “We’ve always believed in doing things differently, and now we get to do that without compromise. The vision is clearer than ever.”
Oxymorrons are currently on the road with Sleep Theory and set to perform at every stop of the Warped Tour 30th Anniversary, hitting Washington D.C., Long Beach, CA, and Orlando, FL.
