New Supergroup ‘Better Lovers’ Release Huge Debut Single!
Today the sound of all 2000s metal and hardcore fans rejoicing reverberated around the world at the announcement of a new supergroup emerging called “Better Lovers” featuring ex members of Every Time I Die, The Dillinger Escape Plan and grammy winning super-producer Will Putney. Since the demise of ETID and Dillinger, the heavy music scene has had a whole in it that could only be filled by the enormous groove filled riffs, technical proficiency and pure unadulterated aggression both bands provided for over 2 decades, so when they teamed up with producer Will Putney (ETID, Stray From The Path, Knocked Loose, Norma Jean) for this project it was music to our ears. It has been known for a while that ex members of Every Time I Die had been writing and recording with Putney from snippets on guitarist Jordan Buckley’s social media, however no one knew who exactly would be stepping up to front the new music. There has been a lot scepticism online that whoever took the mantle, they wouldn’t be able to match the talent and uniqueness of former ETID vocalist Keith Buckley, who is currently also working on new music. However few would argue that the ex Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato is not a great addition, with his range of vocal ability and incredible energetic live performances, it seems like just the perfect fit. Better Lovers have come out swinging too with their debut single and video for “30 Under 13” and boy does it pack a punch. The song is a full on riff fest that feels somewhat nostalgic but also fresh, combining the best parts each of the members are known for all churned through Putney’s crisp and energy filled production and mix.
Speaking on the project guitarist Jordan Buckley shared: “Looking back, I’m so happy everything got me to where I am. The pandemic and the last few years made me hungrier and more grateful. This isn’t a hobby. This isn’t temporary. This is the next evolution for each of us. Greg and Will rejuvenated me and made me even more confident. Now, everybody needs to know we’re a wild animal that just broke out of the zoo—there’s no trying to put it back in the cage.”
Vocalist Greg Puciato adds: “Jordan sent me some already finished instrumental tracks, and they hit me at just the right time… Those tracks woke up a side of me that I thought was fully extinct but was merely evolving and changing. To my complete surprise there was still something left in that area to dig at, and the vessel for it made sense.”
Will Putney says: “It’s a group of loaded weapons all firing at full power ready for the next chapter of our music careers, and I can confidently say our collective best work is ahead of us.”
