MUDVAYNE Release New Single “Sticks and Stones”

One the 00’s most iconic nu-metal bands MUDVAYNE are officially back! Two weeks ago the band returned with their first new single in over a decade and a half, “Hurt People Hurt People” and are back at it with another new single now with “Sticks and Stones.” The song delivers a powerful hard rock sound with those iconic MUDVAYNE bass tones and crunched up detuned riffs, all top off with vocalist Chad Gray’s unmistakable mix of melodies and screams.

Chad shared his inspiration behind the track, reflecting on the lasting impact of hurtful words: “”I was always told “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” Well it’s a great nursery rhyme but I couldn’t disagree more. I’ve carried a lot of words throughout my life as if they were just spoken to me. Reality is…they do hurt. I’ve tried my best to shed them, but when they come from dear friends, family – people that are suppose to love you. The words have teeth and they won’t let go. Blood doesn’t wash out, it stains. I think I’m just trying to remind people to love their children. Don’t use them as a bullet to fire into your ex or whomever you’re with now. They’re innocent and they are impressionable. And trust me as a child, that was used as a weapon, your words will hurt them…Long after you say them.”

In addition to the new music, MUDVAYNE have launched a double A-side 7″ vinyl featuring both tracks. Fans can choose between a standard edition and a signed, limited run of 500 copies, available exclusively through the band’s webstore alongside a fresh merch capsule. There’s also a special variant available exclusively through Revolver.

The release comes as the band embarks on their L.D. 50 25th Anniversary headline tour. L.D. 50, released in 2000 marked the band’s explosive debut, eventually going Gold and being hailed as a defining album of 2000s metal. Supporting MUDVAYNE on the tour are Static-X, with Vended opening.
