Where does the time go eh? Mayday Parade is celebrating 20 years together with an ambitious three-part album that captures the emotional depth and creative evolution that has defined their career.

The first instalment, Sweet, is set to release on April 18, 2025, and they have released the lead single, “By The Way.” The sing exemplifies what has made Mayday Parade a staple of the alternative music scene for two decades as they combines tender, piano-led melodies with soaring guitars and deeply personal lyrics.

Vocalist Derek Sanders shares: Being in a band for this long, sometimes you feel like you’re getting it right and sometimes you feel like you’re dancing around what you should be doing. This song feels locked in as a step in the right direction. It’s a song about trying to stay optimistic as the world and everything you know is changing around you. We hope you all enjoy it.” – Derek Sanders on “By The Way”

Recorded with longtime collaborators Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, known for their work with All Time Low and Jimmy Eat World, Sweet is the first of three entries in the band’s eighth studio album. This release also marks a significant milestone as the group’s first self-released collection since their 2006 debut EP, Tales Told By Dead Friends, which they famously sold in parking lots while following the Vans Warped Tour.
