Mayday Parade release new single ‘Blame It On The Youth’

Beloved pop-punk veterans Mayday Parade have unveiled their brand new single ‘Blame It On The Youth’, offering the first taste of the third instalment in the band’s ambitious three-part album trilogy celebrating their 20th anniversary.
The trilogy follows the release of 2025’s Sweet and Sad, and also marks a major milestone for the band as their first self-released material since their 2006 debut EP Tales Told By Dead Friends. Originally sold independently in parking lots during early Vans Warped Tour runs, the EP would go on to sell more than 50,000 copies and launch a career that has helped define modern pop-punk and emo for the last two decades.
Arriving fittingly on May Day, ‘Blame It On The Youth’ captures the reckless freedom and nostalgic energy that has long been synonymous with the band’s sound. Built around a chorus written by drummer Jake Bundrick, the track became a fully collaborative effort as the rest of the band came together to shape the final version.
Speaking about the song, guitarist Brooks Betts shared: “Jake came in with this amazing song that we were all drawn to. We knew instantly it was important to get the track right but we really just had a solid chorus and loose verse melodies so the band quickly got to work constructing multiple versions of lyrics to finish the track. We worked together in a way that was truly collaborative and with the process feel we created something we are all super proud of.”
The release also arrives as the band continue their extensive 2025/2026 world touring schedule, including appearances at Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple Festival, Vans Warped Tour and Aftershock Festival.
