Mallavora share new single “It’s Not Enough” and announce new EP

Touching the lands of many metal styles, Mallavora bring the same allure and prowess as icons such as Evanescence or Jinjer, whilst not alienating the hard rock community. They straddled the worlds of metal music construction whilst embracing the melodies and powerful choruses we love to hear in the heavier side of rock. We called out the ‘epic’ of this new single in the article title and we’ll do it again here. There’s a lot of vocal identities within singer Jessica Douek’s capabilities and from truly wholesome singer to utterly commanding screams. She’s a fierce one. The song also comes from a very personal place for Jess; “In this track, I touch on a recurring nightmare I had when I was younger. “I was endlessly falling in slow motion and had the constant lurch in my stomach from the ground being wiped out from underneath me.”

Mallavora have come onto many of our radars already with previous single “Skin” or previous EP ‘Origins’, but it feels like things are really starting to boil lately for these Bristolian stars. Music that will connect globally, not just for the musicality of it, but for the truly personal perspectives shared. From dealing with mental and physical health struggles to rightfully challenging the crushing ‘norms’ of the world against accessibility and the closed-door music business, this is a band set to churn up all the right things in the right ways.

For fans old and new, we also celebrate the announcement of a forthcoming EP ‘Echoes’, releasing 20th November on Marshall Records.Speaking on the new EP the band share: “Creating this EP was an absolute dream experience. Working with Mikey Demus was a real ‘pinch me’ moment for us since Skindred has inspired us for so many years,” guitarist Larry Sobieraj shares excitedly. ‘Recording at The Marshall Studio was a real privilege. It’s a magical place; you can feel the amazing history of music when you walk through the door.  We’d been aware of Lewis’ work for a while and were always impressed by the energy he brings to his mixes,” adds vocalist Jess. “We knew we wanted him to mix our EP, and it’s every bit as energetic, aggressive, and huge as we had hoped for. This EP is undoubtedly the best-sounding music we’ve ever created.”

Imagine getting super gothic, abstract reality and epic themes and mushing them together for a video – we have that in “It’s Not Enough”:
