Glasgow’s been brewing something special in Lo Rays…

The UK is at the forefront of some incredible, genre-dismissing heavy music right now. From the punk rave of Cody Frost, to the metal hip-hop leaning Kid Bookie or Native James, there’s no end to the inegnuity and fresh sounds in this countries scene right now. Lo Rays brings the best of rock, metal, riffs and electro-leaning production to the table.

Having met in the live scene across Glasgow, singer Laura (originally from Finland) and her to be band (all based in Glasgow) began to forge the beginnings of Lo Rays in 2018. Following some support from the Creative Scotland arts funding, we heard their debut EP ‘Algorithm Gods’ last year, and now they return with forceful new single ‘Freak’. Continuing the cyberpunk-esque theme we’ve seen in previous single “Forget Myself” we’re treated to a glitchy visual experience that perfectly matches the tone of the track.

The band have already played with the likes of Vukovi, ZAND and North Atlas and surely, with tracks like this out in the ether, we’ll be seeing more of them around the UK and beyond this year.
