LAKE MALICE Release New Single & Video ‘Stop The Party’

Our ones to watch and headliners at this years Collison Day Fest Lake Malice are back with another killer new single and & music video. “Stop The Party” is an electronic fuelled rock anthem which has as much pop sensibilities as it has heaviness. It’s an eclectic and fresh sounding song that flits between electro soundscapes and crunched-up riffs, showing off a new side to the bands sound with vocalist Alice Guala seamlessly moving between her soft and aggressive vocal styles while lyrically dealing with issues of social anxiety and depression.

Speaking on the lyrical content Alice says: “When things went back to normal, I felt like there was a veiled expectation for people to catch-up on social events – from birthday parties to gigs and festivals,” she explains. “As a person who suffered with anxiety and depression most of her adult life, it was extremely difficult to switch my social skills back on, and that’s when my depression reached its lowest points (hence wanting to “stop the party”, where the party represents life).”

The accompanying music video for the track was inspired by the new HBO series and game adaptation of ‘The Last Of Us’, Guala says: “We knew we wanted the video to be a party, but then we added the zombie element to represent that feeling of unease and anxiety you can easily get, being in a social setting. So yeah, it turned out to be a zombie party.”
