KNOCKED LOOSE Release New Singles & Video for “Deep in the Willow” / “Everything is Quiet Now”
One of heavy music’s hottest bands right now Knocked Loose have just dropped and their brand new ‘Upon Loss’ double single and have delivered both songs in music video form. Similarly to the bands 2021 EP “A Tear In The Fabric Of Life”, which was first released as a single animated video, this time around the band have decided to step back in front of the camera with vocalist Bryan Garris trying his hand out at directing. Speaking on the songs and videos he says: “‘Deep in the Willow’ and ‘Everything is Quiet Now’ are a reminder that we are heavy, intense, and extreme… Some elements come and go, but those will never change. After ‘A Tear in the Fabric of Life’ we were inspired to see how much art we could incorporate moving forward – which led us to a style of video we’ve never attempted or approached. Taking myself specifically far outside of my comfort zone and pushing the boundaries on how I’ve been seen in the past was a creative experience I will never forget. This video wouldn’t be what it is without the collaboration with Eric Richter, someone we’ve admired for a while. And the songs wouldn’t be what they are without [producer] Drew Fulk, a new friend and creative ear in the entire process.”
Musically the singles are sure to scratch every Knocked Loose fans itch, the band have carved out such a distinct sound amongst their peers and Upon Loss develops this and more. The singles are more akin to the band’s 2019 album ‘A Different Shade of Blue’ with the detuned riffs, intricate yet pummelling drums, huge beatdowns and Garris’ iconic vocals still present but taken to the next level. Song structure and production wise the singles seem well thought out and have some interesting curveballs thrown in such as the clean guitar line washing over the final breakdown in ‘Everything is Quiet Now’ which helps bring the story to a close, plus the calling card of “Knocked Loose Motherfuckers” in ‘Deep in the Willow’ is bound to be a fan favourite live. If their triumphant appearance at this years Coachella festival didn’t bolster their popularity enough, releasing music of this calibre is sure to keep Knocked Loose atop of the heavy music landscape for some time.
