Brazilian punk-rock queen Karen Dió announces debut EP ‘My World’.

No one is combining modern punk with the basic sensibilities of the genre in the modern day like Karen Dió. Originating in the Brazillian music scene but spreading her wings globally as a solo artist, her first singles have popping up in a viral way on socials already. She’s got oodles of character, enviable spirit and is commanding af. Miss Dió is naturally going to inspire a generation of musicians to step up and kick the ass of others to sit up and pay attention.

It would be wrong to introduce you to this artist without referencing an earlier single, “Sick Ride”. It’s chorus is a complete earworm, lyrics easy to lock in your brain and visuals (check the video below), a real statement and energising listen. “Sick Ride” is a little bit outside what I normally do,” Dió admits. “It was quite out of my world andI really didn’t know what it was going to be. When I saw all the great feedback and millions and millions of people watching and playing the songs and stuff…it’s just crazy.”

The latest single ‘Stupid’ is again effortlessly catchy but staying true to her punk perspective. As she heads into debut EP time, ‘My World’ releasing October 25th, it’s a good time to get locked into socials and grab a show live if you can.

You will be humming this song before it’s over..trust. Karen Dió – “Sick Ride” is the sound of the summer:
