The genre-defying heavy duo House of Protection are continuing their path to world domination and have announced their second EP, Outrun You All, set for release on May 23 via Red Bull Records. To kick things off, the band has dropped the EP’s lead single, Afterlife. Once again collaborating with producer Jordan Fish, the track showcases their signature blend of intensity and innovation with floaty melodies contrasted with huge detuned riffage, powerful drum grooves and electronic intensity. It’s a sound they have continued to grow and develop since their debut 2024 EP “Galore” and already in their short career have carved our a unique sonic identity that truly stands out from the crowd.
Speaking about the single, the band shared, “Afterlife was the second song we demoed, right after It’s Supposed to Hurt. It started with just the guitar stab and the whip sound. We liked it a lot, but ultimately, we pushed to avoid heavy half-time on GALORE. We intentionally wanted to keep that whole first EP pretty fast. After our debut shows, we realized how much we missed the feeling live, so we revisited it and refined the ideas with Jordan and Nick. Now it’s one of our favourites.”
The track is accompanied by a striking music video featuring a surreal dream sequence, led by a dominatrix figure who sets the stage for a whirlwind of mind-bending visuals and high-energy performance shots. Watch below.
House of Protection has been making waves with their high-octane live performances, and their recent run supporting Bad Omens and Poppy in Australia only added to their growing momentum.
