Hot Mulligan Drop New Album The Sound A Body Makes When It’s Still + Video for “It Smells Like Fudge Axe In Here”

Post-emo pioneers Hot Mulligan have released their highly-anticipated fourth album The Sound A Body Makes When It’s Still, out now via Wax Bodega. Alongside the record comes the official music video for the brilliantly chaotic new single “It Smells Like Fudge Axe In Here”.

The album sees Hot Mulligan dig deeper than ever, building on their formula of balancing raw catharsis with infectious hooks. From the slow burn moving opener “Moving to Bed Bug Island” to the stripped-back closer “My Dad Told Me to Write a Nice One for Nana So This Is It”, the record captures every shade of emotion, whether it’s the emo-gone-indie drive of “It Smells Like Fudge Axe In Here”, the explosive pop-punk rush of “And a Big Load” and “Bon Jonah” or the angular math rock tinged “Monica Lewinskibidi”. It’s everything Hot Mulligan fans love and more, with the epic penultimate track “Slumdog Scungillionaire” bringing everything together.

The new video for “It Smells Like Fudge Axe In Here”, directed by Michael Herrick, takes things to unexpected places—what begins as a calm Italian chess match quickly spirals into full-blown chaos, complete with flying spaghetti and doves scattering into the summer air.

Hot Mulligan will join Pierce The Veil on their massive UK and European tour this September, hitting arenas across London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, and more before heading to mainland Europe.
