Aussies HANDS LIKE HOUSES are soaring into a brand-new era with the announcement of their new album, “A T M O S P H E R I C S”. Set for release on February 14, 2025, via Civilians, the 16-track double album marks a new era for the band, promising a dynamic blend of sounds and a re-newed purpose.

Alongside the announcement, they have dropped their latest single, “Obey ft Kellin Quinn,” a groove-laden rock track that perfectly captures the band’s refreshed, experimental sound.

The new album is divided into four unique volumes—Tropo(sphere), Strato(sphere), Meso(sphere), and Thermo(sphere)—each symbolising a distinct phase in the band’s evolution and creative process. The album is a sonic journey, reflecting the personal and collective growth of the band, with frontman Josh Raven leading the charge.

In a statement, guitarist Joel Tyrrell shared: “Everything we knew had been swept away, and we really didn’t know if we would continue on as a band… We had to dig deep together and talk about what we wanted. Some of our happiest moments have been with the band, so we wanted to re-shape our future.”

The concept behind A T M O S P H E R I C S is all about reclaiming their independence and learning to “fly again” on their own terms. The album draws inspiration from the idea of navigating through the different layers of the atmosphere—capturing the band’s sense of rebirth and the creative freedom they found after recruiting Josh Raven. “We removed the pressure we used to place on ourselves. The songs didn’t have to fit a sound for an album—it could just exist as a moment in time, for that particular layer of the atmosphere,” Tyrrell reflects.
