Gürl release brand new single & video ‘Evil Twin’ featuring BRONNIE

Two of our ones to watch for 2024 have joined forces for a brand new release. Alt rock rising stars Gürl have just dropped their new single ‘Evil Twin’ featuring guest vocals from pop rock star BRONNIE. The song is taken from Gürl’s upcoming second EP, ‘Parma Violence’ which is out on the 10th May and showcases the band’s playful side with fun lyrics and infectious melodies while musically it shifts in dynamics from fast punked up beats to smooth electronic flourishes, there’s even a ripping guitar solo and some Queen style vocal harmonies thrown in for good measure.

Speaking on the song vocalist Josh Dalton says: “I wish I could tell you the song was about the duality of man or something, and how we’re all our own evil twins really…but it’s not that deep; it’s about that episode of The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror, where Bart has an evil twin called Hugo. They lock Hugo in the attic and feed him buckets of fish heads. Anyway, spoiler alert, turns out Bart was the evil twin the whole time, and I just loved that twist. It’s a real Prestige situation haha”

The accompanying music video plays on the songs premise and see’s the band in a Stepford Wives-esque 1950s American setting with Bronnie cameoing as an innocent local Avon lady unaware of the dark secret they are harbouring beneath.
